Three tracks, one direction — building with AI.
From a first Python script to deploying a neural network, Mentari Labs has a track that starts where you are. All programmes are delivered online with mentor support and a pace built for working adults.
Back to HomeA consistent approach across all three programmes
Recorded lessons
Watch at any hour that suits you. Lessons are concise and focused on one concept at a time.
Weekly exercises
Apply each concept to a hands-on task before the next lesson drops. The exercises are where the learning sticks.
Live mentor clinic
A 90-minute session each week where instructors answer your questions and review common points of confusion.
Portfolio project
The final weeks of each track are devoted to a project with instructor guidance and feedback, producing something you own.
AI & Python Starter
A relaxed entry point for those new to building with data. Over six weeks you cover Python essentials, basic data handling, and a first simple model, supported by a weekly mentor clinic. The tide-paced syllabus keeps each step manageable. You finish with a small portfolio piece and a clear direction for what to learn next.
This track assumes no prior programming experience. If you know what a variable is in general terms, you are ready. If you are completely new to computing, a short pre-reading list is provided on enrolment.
What you will cover
- 01Python syntax, variables, loops, and functions
- 02Data structures and file handling
- 03Working with tabular data using pandas
- 04Exploratory data analysis and visualisation
- 05Training and evaluating a first model with scikit-learn
- 06Portfolio project with mentor review
- No prior programming knowledge required
- Weekly mentor clinic included
- Completion certificate on portfolio submission
- Ongoing access to recordings
Best suited for
Analysts, administrators, and professionals with no coding background who want to understand what AI can do and begin building a foundation for further study.
Best suited for
Developers, engineers, and data-adjacent professionals with some Python familiarity who want to build ML workflows and produce portfolio-ready projects with personal feedback.
Applied Machine Learning
A practical track for learners ready to ride into real projects. Across ten weeks you build a steady workflow for data, training, and evaluation, completing two grounded projects with personal feedback. Small cohorts keep mentoring close. Recordings and a supportive peer channel are included.
This track moves at a faster pace than the Starter. A working knowledge of Python is required — you should be able to write a function, import a library, and work with a DataFrame before the first week begins.
What you will cover
- 01Data cleaning, feature engineering, and pipelines
- 02Supervised learning — regression and classification
- 03Model evaluation, cross-validation, and bias-variance
- 04Ensemble methods and hyperparameter tuning
- 05Two grounded projects with personal instructor feedback
- Two portfolio projects reviewed by instructors
- Active peer support channel throughout
- Weekly mentor clinic included
- Recordings accessible post-cohort
Deep Learning Voyage
An advanced track for developers ready to navigate neural networks. Over fourteen weeks you study modern architectures, training strategies, and responsible deployment, building a capstone with guidance. The close cohort keeps feedback thorough. Lasting access and a calm alumni harbour support you afterwards.
Prerequisites: comfortable with Python, some prior ML exposure (either via Applied ML or equivalent experience). Familiarity with calculus and linear algebra is helpful but not strictly required — we introduce the necessary mathematical intuitions in the early weeks.
What you will cover
- 01Neural network fundamentals and backpropagation
- 02Convolutional networks for vision tasks
- 03Sequence models — RNNs, LSTMs, and Transformers
- 04Training strategies — regularisation, optimisers, scheduling
- 05Responsible deployment and model monitoring
- 06Capstone project with close instructor guidance
- Capstone project with thorough instructor review
- Lifetime access to materials
- Alumni community access after completion
- Responsible AI covered throughout
Best suited for
Software engineers and ML practitioners looking to move into deep learning work — vision, NLP, or generative systems — with the depth to make production decisions, not just run notebooks.
