Please read them carefully before registering. By completing enrolment or continuing to use our website, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms.

1. Definitions

Throughout these Terms, the following words carry the meanings given below:

  • "Service" — the Mentari Labs website and all online courses, materials, and related resources we make available.
  • "User" / "You" — any individual who accesses our website or enrols in a course.
  • "We / Us / Our" — Mentari Labs Sdn. Bhd., registered in Malaysia.
  • "Content" — all course materials, videos, exercises, code samples, text, and other resources available through the Service.
  • "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
  • "Enrolment" — the act of registering and paying for a course, granting you access to that course's Content.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website or completing an enrolment, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age.
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
  • You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you are registering on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3. Service Description

Mentari Labs offers online AI and data education through structured courses delivered over the internet. Our current programmes include:

  • AI & Python Starter Course — a six-week introductory track covering Python essentials and foundational data work.
  • Applied Machine Learning — a ten-week practical track for building real data workflows and completing grounded projects.
  • Deep Learning Voyage — a fourteen-week advanced track covering neural network architectures, training strategies, and responsible deployment.

Course availability is subject to cohort scheduling. We reserve the right to adjust, postpone, or withdraw a course with reasonable advance notice to enrolled learners.

4. User Accounts

To access course materials after enrolment, you will need an account on our learning platform. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current registration information.
  • Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others.
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

Your account is personal and may not be transferred or assigned to another individual.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the Service for lawful, personal learning purposes only. The following activities are not permitted:

  • Sharing, redistributing, or reselling course Content to third parties.
  • Recording, screen-capturing, or reproducing live sessions without written permission.
  • Disrupting the learning environment of other participants through harassment or offensive conduct.
  • Attempting to access systems, accounts, or data beyond what is made available to you.
  • Using our name, brand, or materials to misrepresent your qualifications or affiliation with Mentari Labs.
  • Engaging in academic dishonesty, such as submitting another person's work as your own.

Mentari Labs may suspend or terminate access without refund where a serious breach of this section is found.

6. Intellectual Property

All Content, course materials, brand assets, and website design are the intellectual property of Mentari Labs or its licensors and are protected under Malaysian copyright law. Upon enrolment, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use the Content for your own learning for the duration of your access period.

This licence does not permit reproduction, modification, distribution, or commercial use of any Content. Any code samples provided for practice exercises may be used in personal and professional projects, but may not be packaged or sold as standalone products.

Work you create independently during a course remains yours. By sharing it in course forums or peer sessions, you grant Mentari Labs a non-exclusive right to use it for internal training illustration purposes only.

7. Payment & Refunds

All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of applicable taxes. Current fees are as follows:

  • AI & Python Starter Course — RM 960
  • Applied Machine Learning — RM 1,390
  • Deep Learning Voyage — RM 1,860

Accepted payments: Online bank transfer, debit/credit card via our secure payment gateway, and selected e-wallet services.

Refund policy: A full refund is available if you request cancellation within seven (7) calendar days of enrolment, provided you have not yet accessed more than one module of course content. After this window, or once significant content has been accessed, we are unable to offer refunds. In the event that a cohort is cancelled by Mentari Labs, enrolled learners will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future cohort.

8. Course Enrolment & Access

Upon successful payment, you will receive confirmation and access credentials within one business day. The following conditions apply to your enrolment:

  • Course access begins on the confirmed cohort start date and remains available for the stated course duration plus a reasonable review period (typically 30 days after the final session).
  • The Deep Learning Voyage includes lasting access to course recordings as described in its programme details.
  • Completion of all modules is required to receive a course completion acknowledgement from Mentari Labs.
  • Mentari Labs completion acknowledgements confirm participation and effort; they are not accredited academic qualifications.
  • Academic integrity is expected throughout. Submitting work that is not your own undermines the learning process and may result in removal from the course.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we work hard to maintain the quality and accuracy of our content:

  • We do not warrant that course content will be error-free or always up to date with the latest developments in the field, though we aim to keep it current.
  • Learning outcomes depend significantly on your own effort, time investment, and prior knowledge. We do not make promises about specific career or project outcomes.
  • Course content is for educational purposes and does not constitute professional advice in law, finance, medicine, or other regulated fields.
  • We do not warrant uninterrupted availability of the platform, though we take reasonable steps to ensure reliability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Mentari Labs' total liability to you in connection with any claim arising under this Agreement shall not exceed the amount you paid for the course in question during the twelve months preceding the claim.

We shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses including loss of earnings, loss of data, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mentari Labs, its staff, and its instructors from any claims, costs, or losses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your infringement of any third-party rights through your use of the platform.

12. Termination

Either party may end this Agreement. You may stop using the Service at any time, subject to the refund conditions in Section 7. We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You breach these Terms in a material way and, where the breach is remediable, do not address it within seven days of written notice.
  • We have reasonable grounds to believe continued access poses a risk to other learners or the integrity of our courses.

On termination, your licence to access Content ends. Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. Most concerns can be addressed through a simple conversation with our support team.

If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days of written notice, either party may refer the matter to the courts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction. Malaysian consumer protection provisions under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 apply where relevant.

14. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the complete agreement between us.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights under this Agreement. We may assign ours in connection with a business transfer, with reasonable notice to you.
  • Notices: Formal notices to us should be sent to [email protected] or by post to the address below.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will post a notice on our website and, where practical, email enrolled learners at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. If you disagree with a material change, you may close your account; refund eligibility will follow Section 7.
